Yes, zero fee and no obligation required. Plus you don't have to leave home. I assure you the seminars conducted by the rest are no different from mine. Except that mine could be better.
I will discussed here the LAUNDRY PROCEDURES - RECEIVING.
Laundry Procedure – Receiving
In this step, it is important that you know your customer by their names, either it be their family or first name, so as to create a friendly environment.
Note: If the customer is new, get their complete name and address and contact number. Make a database of your customer.

It is important that you know well the services that you offer. Let's say for example you offer Php 25/kilo WDF(wash-dry-fold), Php 50/kilo WDP (wash-dry-press), Php50 /kilo comforter.
Upon receiving the laundry, segregate the items according to your services offered and weigh them separately. On your JOB Order you would enter the details of the weights:
Example:
WDF = 3.5 kilos x Php25 = Php 87.50
WDP = 5 kilos x Php50 = 150
Comforter = 4 kilos x Php 75 = 300
Total Php 537.50
Take note ,however, that if you have a service that is charged by the piece, just the same segregate it accordingly and include it on the J.O.
example: Dry Clean - Barong 1 piece Php300.
This would now give you a total of Php 837.50. (537.50 + 300)
Simple Right? That is Receiving process. I know you're confused, let me refer you back to my previous post on MAKING YOUR OWN JOB ORDER. After you studied your competition, you now have in mind your services to offer plus the fees. Then you post in front of your shop your "SERVICES OFFERED"- which is the result of your research.
Ok now, here's a customer with the laundry, greet them well, courteously, with a smile. Weight the items but don't just weigh it. Segregate it according to your services offered. Yes weigh them separately. Here's a graphic example:
IMPORTANT:
Before weighing the laundry, set your scale to zero:
- Place your empty laundry basket first on your scale (scale is OFF at this point)
- Then turn ON the digital scale
Fill in your J.O. accordingly. Make them sign the "CONFORME" and your staff should sign and indicate the date and time of receipt.
In practice, when a customer brings their laundry, we ask them if there is a comforter in their laundry bag, if none then it's all under WDF. However, when you found out that there is an item like comforter then adjust or correct your J.O. Comforters are charge at a higher price. If you have a number of that customer then inform then of any changes in your J.O.
In cases where the customer wants to have their laundry press, which is customarily double the price of WDF, require them to bring their own hanger, otherwise, we charge 6php per hanger.
Turn around time is usually 3 days but in practice(in our shop) it's 24 hours at the same time we got the item.
How Do I Price Rush Item?
When a customer wants to expedite his laundry, then just double the price of your fee for that item.
Is there a minimum charge?
It's up to you. At my shop, our minimum of 3 kilos. When the total weight of WDF (as an example) is below 3 kilos, then write the actual weight but the amount forwarded should be 75php (minimum 3 kgs x 25php).
In our experience at the shop, it is tedious and time consuming to sort the laundry.
So, let us not bore the customer, let them sign the JO and give the customer copy of the JO which will serve as their claim stub.

ReplyDeletehi po. could i ask po what you do with smaller laundries like 3kg or less...do you sort it and wash each separately or sort it and mix it with the other customer's laundry.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of the bulk.. always make it a point to sort.. we don't mix a customers' laundry with others..for hygiene purposes..
