Drying
There are two type of machines used for drying:
- Electric type
- Gas type
Both works equally well, However, the use of heating element for electric dryer requires so much electricity. Check on your Meralco bill and you will know what i mean.
Gas type uses LPG for heating, and of course, electricity to rotate the drum.
The advantage of using a Electric dryer is the quality of end product, NO LINT on your
fabrics.
fabrics.
Gas type is Cost effective, but creates LINT. After the end of the day, make it a habit to clean the filter to avoid build up. It could come in handy to have a lint roller, Buy one.
Now, let us assume we are using a gas type, an 11 kg. LPG would cost around Php750 and would lasts about 3 days if you don't hang dry.
It pays to have a big place, The 2nd floor of my shop is our drying area , most of the time we totally hang dry without the need to use the dryer.
In case you don't have luxury of space, i recommend Hang Dry first, about 30 minutes, before putting the fabrics inside the dryer. By doing this, you are saving on gas.
